FAQ
Here is some important information that we want to share about our wedding and traveling to the Bahamas. We will update as needed, so please check back. And let us know if we are missing anything by filling out our RSVP form and leaving your question at the bottom. Can’t wait to see you in the Bahamas!
TRAVELING TO THE BAHAMAS:
A passport is required for entry to the Bahamas, so please check the expiration date on your passport to ensure that it is valid for travel.
The closest airport is NAS, Lynden Pindling International Airport, located in Nassau.
It’s important to note that for departure back home, the recommended time to arrive at the airport is three hours prior to departure. US Citizens clear immigration prior to departure, so it’s important to allow enough time for the immigration lines. The airport does have a TSA precheck line, but CLEAR is not available. There are Global Entry kiosks, but they are not always open with recent government shutdown protocols. Check your hotel for most updated details regarding availability.
ONCE ON THIS ISLAND…
Paradise Island is located just off Nassau and connected to the main island via bridge. It’s about a 25 minute drive to Paradise Island from the airport.
Taxis are readily available from the airport, but ride share services are not available on island. Some taxis accept credit cards, but most do not. It’s important to bring cash with you, as the ATM at the airport is not reliable. There are plenty of ATMs in the casino in the Royal Tower at Atlantis. The US and Bahamian dollar are equal and both are accepted everywhere.
For private airport transfers on island, contact your hotel’s concierge, or we always recommend Bahamas Exquisite Transfers & Tours, BahamasExquisite@gmail.com.
